I had a customer once. She needed an outfit for a party. Found her a dress she was convinced she couldn't pull off. She tried it on, came out looking like herself — fully herself — and said:

I told her straight:
You can't judge an outfit by the hanger. You have to put it on and own it.
She did. Walked into that party. Stopped the room. Her ex couldn't look away. She came back to the store to show me the pictures.
